Suzuki burgman 400cc

The Suzuki Burgman 400 has earned a reputation.that is a 400cc scooter and that puts it halfway between the traditional scooter and a motorcycle – and you need a full bike licence to ride it. But forget all that; if you just read the specs, you’d think it was a bike. A liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, dohc, four-valve, 400cc single with twin discs up front and a single at the back, 41mm forks and a seven-way preload-adjustable rear spring-damper in a tubular steel frame. In fact, the only giveaway is the CVT automatic transmission – and the fact that, with 62 litres of storage under the seat, you can lock up two full-face helmets and gear.

The Burgman uses a single cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, liquid cooled engine. This powerplant can propel a single rider to about 95mph. That makes it pretty comparable to its chief competitor, the Yamaha Majesty. With two riders, this scooter has to work a bit harder. If you are touring with a passenger in a fast group of riders, your scooter will be working pretty hard. In this environment, the 650cc Burgman really excels. Depending on how hard you are making your Burgman work, you can expect to achieve 55-65 mpg which is quite a bit better than the 650 Burgman.

2007 the Suzuki Burgman 400 entered a new generation with an all new model (shown above). The 2007 Suzuki Burgman 400 used a new 400cc engine that featured DOHC, liquid cooling, fuel injection and 4-valves. Also new was the styling which updated for a fresher look. The 2007 Burgman 400 also got a larger windscreen, more underseat storage (62 liter), a larger front wheel and a nice new instrument panel. For several years Suzuki sold an ABS equipped version of this scooter alongside the regular model, but for 2011 Suzuki is only selling the ABS version. The rumour is that Suzuki is working on a new generation of Burgman that hopefully we'll see here in the next few years as this scooters replacement. The Suzuki Burgman 400 is still sharp looking maxi-scoot. It’s easy to see why this is one of the most successful maxi-scooters ever.

The storage capacity is one of the strong points of this Suzuki Burgman 400.. The 400cc version has nearly the same cavernous storage area as it’s larger sibling. Compared to it’s larger sibling, one advantage of siding with the 400cc version is the lighter overall weight and smaller dimensions. This makes the scooter more nimble and less intimidating for owners who are used to small scoots. Another advantage is that smaller riders will find the 400cc version more accommodating to their bodies proportions.
